Trial Work Group Highlights: Catdet Working Group (CAWG)
Welcome to this series highlighting the workgroups in the Jupiverse.
This week let’s dive into Catdets Working Group (CAWG) — a team that ensures community members are supported, recognized, and rewarded.
For any DAO to be successful, there are a few key things — Community, Governance processes, Technology, Tokenomics.
While all are critical, it is safe to say that the community is the most important asset of a DAO. And what makes a community flourish? — A culture which supports and nurtures the community members. This is where CAWG steps in.
CAWG’s vision is to grow the community engagement and strengthen the Catdet culture.
In general the Catdets Work Group works towards showering love and appreciation for community members. They ensure that each member feels valued, supported and nurtured.
How CAWG Strengthens the Community
Here is a glimpse of few of the initiatives they are doing for the community.
PPP (Peer Pump Peer) hours
One of the major initiatives of the work group is to highlight the best Jupiter related content created by the community members. For a member, it is amazing to see their content being seen by a wider audience.
It is not just about liking and amplifying. Members get review and feedback to level up their content game and refine their contributions.
If you are creating anything related to Jupiter ecosystem then PPP hours is the best place to be in.
Expanding to Reddit
While X and Discord are the primary hub for all the discussions, Reddit is also now growing. The workgroup is actively supporting this expansion with engaging posts and discussions.
The r/JupiterExchange Reddit page has grown to have nearly 8,000 members.
CatdetsW
One of the newest events of the working group is a wellness initiative. Web3 is an intense space where years of things happen in weeks and CAWG figured out that degens need to touch grass.
The CatdetsW event focuses on mental and physical wellness
- Mindfulness—guided meditations
- Pysical activities — beginner friendly workouts
Along with health benefits, the consistent community members were also rewarded with JUP. Basically a double win for the members.
Season 1 of CatdetsW had 11 events and 113 attendees and Season 2 is coming soon.
Good Cats review
The CAWG is assisting the Jupiter team with reviewing the Good Cats applications.
Along with rewarding the Jupiter product users, Jupuary also rewards the meaningful contributions throughout the year by the members.
Evaluating applications and ensuring that these contributions are recognized is a difficult task. Just to give an idea of how massive this evaluation exercise is, there are around 8000 detailed forms up for review
Appreciation Bot
CAWG is serious about the appreciation. They are ensuring that any contribution does not go unnoticed when any member appreciates a fellow member.
There is a formal recognition mechanism in place in the Discord server. CAWG has deployed an ‘Appurrciation’ bot which enables members to appreciate and formally recognize any other members' help.
The appreciation mechanism is now also on X and Reddit with the help of JUP Catdets Chrome extension.
IRL Events
The CAWG doesn’t just operate online.
They have grand in-person events as well. On the eve of Catstanbul, they organized a Retardio Rave party.
Capturing Community Feedback
The team has put up a website to capture any suggestions, idea and thoughts about the community.

Member Growth — Member to Catdet to CoC
Over the last year, the community has evolved and there are 2 clear roles which have emerged — Catdets and Cats of Culture (CoCs)
And CAWG is now working on further refining and structuring how the community recognizes its contributors. With the growth, it is important to have transparency and discussions around the processes related to the roles.

Community Moderation
CAWG is also managing the community moderation now. The Cats of Culture (CoCs) can use the /moderate command in Discord now and once there is a specific number of votes, the moderation action takes place.

Meet the Team
Meet the core contributors of the Catdet WG who bring diverse experiences to the team.
Julz (Lead): Combines 6 years of edtech and product management expertise with startup founder experience. He has built a top-ranked mobile app and has helped multiple projects with tech consulting.
He is the builder behind every CAWG tool and feature — Appurrciation bot, Pawlling Station (for CoCs), X Wall, Wall of Love, and much more. He has also built internal tools for the Good Cats application review process.
Cas: Spent 7 years in service & customer experience — ran multiple fundraisers, and organized events. He was a core team member of a James Beard Award-winning restaurant for 3 years.
The backbone of CAWG, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Looks after managing documentation for ‘catdets.jup.eco’. He also ensures CoC votes run seamlessly and tracks the community content for every PPP session.
Catoshi: Web2 marketing & PR pro turned Web3 builder. He has a background in filmmaking, trading and entrepreneurship.
He is continuing his earlier diverse background in CAWG as well as handling multiple responsibilities. He looks after the video production, copy editing, data analytics, CAWG announcements and the CAWG events.
Rolex: NFT degen turned community leader. He is a former top-performing loan officer and worked with Mad Lads community.
He is the growth master and has grown the @JUPCatdets X from 0 to ~15000 followers within a year. Btw he is the intern behind all the amazing posts and replies on X.
Opacks: A skilled graphic designer creating beautiful and informative graphics. His background in accounting gives him a unique analytical perspective on the designs.
He manages the r/JupiterExchange Reddit and has grown it to ~8000 members. This makes the sub among the top 8% of all Reddit communities.
What’s Next?
CAWG is already empowering the Catdets and community members since their start. And they will be introducing even more initiatives to engage and reward the community.
They are now ready to be a Full Work Group from a Trial Work Group and the vote for the same will be up in the coming weeks. Do wait for their detailed proposal.
In a space where tech is prioritized over people, it is nice to see CAWG working towards the people.
